Hiding when you’re hurting won’t heal you and growing isolated can just let infection grow.
ann voskampThe words " what if " can certainly pack a punch . They're loaded with all sort of emotion , expectation and rejection . These two words can create an atmosphere of depression within minutes .
What if he really doesn't love me ?
What if my plan isn't God's plan ?
What if they never forgive me ?
What if I never become a mother ?
What if I'm wasting my time ?
What if my time never arrives ?
The world is full of " what ifs " . We wait and wait for God to fill our requests , but sometimes , it doesn't quite turn out the way we want it too . Frustration and depression sets in quickly and we keep ourselves isolated from everyone .
Sometimes , it's jealousy of what they have and we don't . Other times , anger creeps in and we cry out in pain .
Why can 't I just win this one time ? Why do I have to wait for everything ? Why are you taking so long , God ?
Life is so hard , folks . By allowing the " what ifs " to take over , we're letting it become even harder . Doubts will set in and that's okay . When they do , we can have a good yell or cry out to our Father . Let Him know how you are feeling regarding your current situation or setback .
The " what ifs " are here to stay and they will flit in and out of our lives quite regularly . Ann Voskamp couldn't have said it better . Surround yourself with old friends and those who come after . Reach out and let your love pour out ! These same people will lift you , hold you and at times , even carry you during your " what if " season .
Have a Blessed day everyday .
