Stresses Of Life: The Everyday

Everyday is a brand new day,
                                                                      everyday is a journey.

I know not what the future hath
Of marvel or surprise,
Assured alone that life and death
His mercy underlies.
J. G. WHITTIER.

I think that one of the most stressful in life are the little things we encounter everyday. The traffic jams. The slow cashier. The Atm machine that isn't working when you pull up to it. The long wait at your doctor's office, especially when your appointment was thirty minutes ago. The car that won't start when you're already late. The computer that continues to buffer.

It's these daily interruptions into our life that cause us more strife than we care to admit. They can turn an ordinary day into a total nightmare. Haven't we all experienced the everyday?

Yet, that is life. We all have days that are perfect in every way and all things go smoothly.  The sun is shining brightly and all is well with the world. We feel content. . . .for a moment. Unfortunately, these types of days are very rare indeed.

For some reason, I've become more frustrated with the everyday stresses. I handled it all better in the past. It could be the crocheting. Yes, crocheting. There was a time where I never left the house without my bag full of whatever project I was currently working on. Crocheting relaxes me. I find myself waiting for the weekend or the night to end so I can rush home and unwind with a crocheting hook. That might sound crazy to all of you, but it's true.

You see, we cannot escape the everyday stresses of life. You might get through the day, but tomorrow there will be more. We need an outlet to diffuse these feelings. We cannot keep them bottled up. You know what happens to a bottle that is shaken up? Yup, it will explode. You don't want that to happen to you. You will feel even worse than before the blowup. What are your outlets? Use them.

HAVE A blessed day everyone.
