Everyday is a brand new day, everyday is a journey.
The little worries which we meet each day
May lie as stumbling-blocks across our way,
Or we may make them stepping-stones to be
Of grace, O Lord, to Thee.
A. E. HAMILITON.
It's been a pretty exciting week around here. The first day, we awakened to frosty windows, snow on the rooftops. on cars and even some actually sticking to the ground. Snow in Springtime? With cloudy and darkened skies, it seems that Winter refuses to leave.
The second morning, our power went out. Somehow, the power line (post) was knocked down. Police and the electric company blocked our entrances and roads where the only way out was on a one way street. After a couple of hours, the electric company constructed a robotic structure to hold up our power lines until they can replace the post. Orange cones lined up around the perimeter of the robotic temporary post. Hope no one runs into it by mistake at night when it's dark.
The third morning, we awakened to a dramatic scene in our own building as one of our neighbors truck ended up with three flat tires. Promptly thereafter a security camera was installed in front our building and these stickers were placed all over the truck's windows saying "You are being watched." Honestly, I think he's being a little too dramatic.
1. His tires were pretty shoddy looking, beat up and all. He needed new tires.
2. He had a flat tire at least two other times that I know of and has kept patching these poor tires over and over again.
3. Besides, he has a pitbull with a neck the size of my head, No one will be messing with this retired couple if they have any sense at all.
The fourth morning, two more robotic arm trucks came from the electric company to hoist another post. Amazing to watch! Emily has named it the Terminator. We have certainly come a long way, baby.
The Fifth morning was supposedly a "slowdown day" which meant only a few came by volunteering. One would think that these days would be easy peasey, but alas, no. Usually, the IT department would be performing updates so the computers weren't working properly. The people that did show up weren't really trained in the area working. Services would be doing "super cleaning" right under your foot. Problem after problem would arise, because there weren't any qualified people to deal with the problem. Not exactly an easy day at all.
Let me tell you when that sixth day rolled around, I couldn't be happier. I bet I'm not the only one that felt like that.
Have a blessed day everyone.
